Say Hello To My Little Friend!

Hey y’all! It’s been an eventful weekend around here….and it’s only Saturday!

You may remember on Thursday I shared a four seasons tour of my art studio door that I painted last summer. Well, y’all loved it here on the blog and over on the socials and apparently word got out because Friday morning I found this cute little guy!

Actually Rosie, my old rescue pup, found him and she was not too happy about another critter being in her mama’s studio! 🤣

This is how I found him, perched up on a shelf, scrambling to get as high and as far away from barking dogs as possible. Poor little guy was so scared!

Once we got the dogs in the house, I put some food and water out for him and we went inside and watched him through the window on the back door.

He hung out like this for quite a while, probably catching his breath and making sure the cost was clear. Finally he climbed over to the window and looked around and then back to the top of the door. It was so adorable to watch him climb down, look around and then run his chubby little behind as fast as he could back to the woods!

We live on 2 acres with a creek at one end and a green belt of about 100 acres directly behind us so we are no strangers to wildlife here. I can’t count the number of turtles I relocated during all the rain we had this spring….when the water got high, they went higher!

I love our little plot of land at the edge of the woods and at the edge of town….it’s wild yet convenient! Happy Saturday my friends!
